I never really thought about art having a symbolic meaning. To me its seemed like painted slapped down and sold for hundreds and thousands of dollars. I knew most art had a meaning to the artist themselves but never understood that they were trying to send us a message. I have never used symbolism in my art to me what you see is what you get in my work. It had no special meaning or connection to my life it’s just fun.
I now know the purpose of art, art is used to show ideas artist have on current issues. Symbolism is used in art to show that they reject what society is saying or doing. A lot of art my look similar to other pieces but each and every art piece is different in its meaning. My art now after being in this class has developed in its meaning. I created a piece that captures my life a few years ago I feel into a depression and always thought I was being judged. In a way I was a prisoner of my own mind and I felt gray and down on myself. So I decided to create a 3d Shallotteof a head with just the outline of eyes and a single tear. I wrote descriptive feeling such as fear worthless all over to show that anyone can feel this way. While in this class I learned about mixing colors. Before whenever I decided to paint I would go out and buy every color I could possibly need wasting tons of money. Now I know with just four colors I can create any color I want. By mixing the primary I can create any color. And with black and white you can create any variation of a color. Thus giving me endless opportunities for paintings. There is not much I would change about the learning experience. I learned all kind of new techniques for drawing and painting. I do feel as though when doing blog post it is hard to make hem long for a very simple question. It would have been easier to have a more elaborate question or not have I required length. I also feel in some of the areas such as printmaking we should have spent more time on it. So that we could use the linoleum jelly and make a real stamp instead of gluing trash together. This was most likely a result from having a substitute most of the time but I do think he should have spent more time on print making.

Using limitations to create art is hard. I learned there are several types of limitations. Some limitations are using non dominate hand, finger painting, and using weird items to make art. I decided to paint a bunny floating away with a balloon. The limitation I chose was to try and convay an image with parts of the painting missing. I put tape on the paper before I painted so there would be peaces not painted limiting the space I had to paint. I was happy with my work except the tape stuck to the paper and riped it.
We won the challengeFor the print making I used cars board and cut up straws. For the clay tile I gave the tree branch a realistic texture and carve out the sky to make the branch and house up higher. For the drawing I was not sure what to do so I drew so cord and shaded the parts that were more worn than others. I was very excited for painting I learned a techniques for making stars I had never seen before. I also blended layers of blue and black to make the sky.
I choose to combine a common household fruit and combine it with a squid. I interpreted two to one as a combination of two items. I learned you can combine two things to create a fictional drawing. This can be used as to illustrate two ideas in one picture. During this project I learned how to merge two picture into one. It was challenging to morph the two pictures together. I made the banana peel into the legs of the squid. I did this so I could use the natural shape of the banana to make an animal. I am very proud of my art. Before this unit I thought useing others ideas was not original. I learned that when you use other people's Idea it can still be original but with credit to who you borrowed your look from. Now that I know this I am not as scared to borrow and change ideas if I want to. I know that I am showing my own work beacase it is my interpretation. I feell that I will now be able to come up with ideas on what to make It was hard to think of what to use for my artist steal. I also used oil pastel to challenge myself. But it kept smearing and didn't turn out 100% how I wanted but I think it looks great. In the past few weeks I have learned about perspective. I learned different was to portray ideas. I also know that when drawing it is important to use perspective when trying to make things look realistic. I now see art as a way to challenge myself. To see what I can make thinking outside the box. It was hard for me to make the Lego look proportionate to the size of a Human compared to our everyday object. If the Lego looked smaller than the object it didn't look right. It would seem fake. This week i learned how important perspective is in drawing and taking photos. Perspective makes things look more real in drawings and gives illusion in pictures.
