For this project I used clammy and glass. I think the most successful part of my peice was the melted glass to give the effect of water. If I had the chance to change something I would possibly try a different texture on the fish. This fits the theme of nature because fish are naturally found in nature.

For my mini tile I rolled out a slab and then cut out a 3x3 square. I then had to let us sit out to stiffen up so it would be easier to carve. For the relief peice I only carved out the clay and added detail with lines. I also created a boarder so that I would be able to melt glass into it. After it came out of the bisque kiln I sanded the edges and brushed off the dust. Then I painted the the clay all over and added the glass.

Jason Hackenwerts Balloon Sculpture is at Edinburgh International Science Festiva. The sculpture is the artist’s interpretation of the legend of Aphrodite and Eros. This sculpture is made up of 10,000 balloons and took six days to blow up, then he wove them to make a 3D sculpture. What drew me to this peice was the mass quantity of balloons used and how large the sculpture is. I also enjoy that he used a very simple material to make something that creative. I don't feel like this is a peice a traditional artist would make because it is a little more abstract which I enjoy. For this project used a bowl to help form the shape. I rolled out coils all the same size. I first made spirals and attached them by scoring and slipping. Then I circled around the bowl horizontally and attached them to each other. After that I took the clay off the bowl and fired it. I then sanded and glazed it and fired it again.
